Friction involved in wrestling
Friction is Involved in many ways with wrestling. First of all, when you take a shot, you are sliding across the mat, and when you do that, that is called sliding friction. You will start do decrease in velocity but before you can stop, you either get sprawled on or stand up and trying again.
The shoes are a big part in wrestling. When you just have socks on, because the sock is so smooth, you will begin to slide a little bit. Because the mat's surface is very rough at all, when the two surfaces move against each other, there is low friction with the two objects. When you have the special shoes made for wrestling on though, you won't be sliding at all. Since the rubber is on the bottom of the shoe, there is very high friction, which reduces the probability that you will fall on your face during a match.
