How speed velocity and acceleration is involved with wrestling
Let's cover speed. Speed is one the the main keys in winning a match. Your speed could make or break your match. Well, speed can be used when doing practically any move. Half nelson, quarter nelson, cradling, standing up in referee's potion, single leg take down. Literally anything your do in this had to deal with speed.
When you take a shot, you have to be quick, or they'll sprawl on you. So if you take a shot at 6m/s you make get sprawled on, depending on the reaction time of the opponent. When you take a shot at 10 m, it is very fast, so you might be able to get a shot off before he can react. When you try to do a half nelson on an opponent, you have to use your speed to put someone in that before he can get up, or turn his head. Also depending on how fast you turn him over can affect you. When you turn the quickly, the person will not be able to get up or reverse your move. |
Velocity is also a big part in wrestling. If you go at a very fast rate, maybe 3 m/s, you would be fast enough to take someone down. If it takes you 1.5 seconds, it would be 4.5 meters, but because of friction, you wouldn't be able to keep a steady rate so your numbers would kind of be all over the place.
Acceleration is also covered in wrestling. when you take a shot, you're going to keep accelerating, but not at a steady rate because of friction. You have to keep accelerating, and when you pick them up, since your acceleration is equal to the mass divided by your force, you will actually decelerate, because when you have more mass and the same force, your acceleration will be slower.
